[ENGLISH] Do Zerg in Starcraft get cancers?
Hello world!
So I decided to start a website. I always loved video games, and I am a medical doctor resident. In our world, we know more or less how things would be if we have an accident or are sick and go to hospital. However, would it be the same for Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher 3 if he has fever? Well ok he is a Witcher, maybe he can create potions to counter the fever... But in medical school we always learn to treat the cause ! So what kind of disease would affect Geralt, generating fever? And what if it was an medical emergency such as purpura fulminans from meningococcal septicaemia ? In Final Fantasy VIII, there is this huge university called Balamb Garden (which I would love to study in!). For those who played the game, we can for sure tell that some missions are very, veeeeery dangerous (going to fight Ifrit ? well if I see such a monster in my life right now I am not sure I'll be able to activate my... limit break). Apart from the nursery in the university, how Squall would do if he has a 3rd-degree burn from the magic "Fire"? Do Zerg in Starcraft gets cancers ? Sure it seems they have total control over their biological fate. However, since the entire life is constituted of cells, which contains DNA which can mutate impairing some DNA-repairing mechanism, that would be logical to assume Zerg can have genetic diseases and cancers!
These are some questions I am interested in and through out my blog, we are going to see video games and animes through a medical and health perspective. So join me on that journey! I hope you will enjoy it!
